On the grounds of The Springs near New Braunfels, Maizey and Aaron confirmed their love for one another. As the sunset drew near, the wedding ceremony concluded ushering in a wonderful night of celebration and fun. Being able to witness and photograph the entire day was such a fun experience. The transition from anxiousness and excitement to joy and delight could be seen as the day progressed, and it was a pleasure capturing the intimate moments throughout.
I have been filtering through wedding photos and came across this image of April and Brent. With so many images to filter through from every wedding it is easy to overlook great photos. I tend to gravitate to a handful of favorites and those are the ones that are published to my blog and facebook. I noticed the photo below never made it to the blog, until today. Backlighting the couple on the dance floor is one of my favorite looks, capturing while they are having a great time makes the photo fantastic.
April and Brent’s wedding took place at Castle Avalon in New Braunfels and was such an amazing event to photograph. Everyone was having a great time, and the couple looked fantastic all day long, always smiling and enjoying themselves.
I spoke last week about catching a surprise shot during the recessional. Having seen the results and been impressed with the image, it was something I have tried repeating in other weddings. What makes capturing this shot so difficult is that I am dealing with a moving couple along with moving light. In most cases my off camera flash is stationary. To put it in motion adds another dynamic to the situation. Couple that with the fact that I need to shoot from an angle that blocks the flash unit, and my assistant out of the frame, and I have a very hit and miss situation.
In this week’s image I had all the ingredients come together in a photo that was a complete surprise. Not only were April and Brent getting almost too close to compose a clean shot, but the off camera flash was too close as well. Sometimes everything works out to capture that perfect image.
April and Brent, my expectations for the wedding have been high ever since we first spoke on the phone about photography. Even the walk-through in September of last year had me giddy with anticipation for your wedding day. Having never been to the castle before, it was a fun opportunity to meet and look over the venue.
Your wedding was everything I expected and more. The two of you looked stunning, and it was an absolute joy to capture your day in photos. The first dance was marvelous, and like your friends and family that were there with you, we were all impressed. It was a beautiful day with incredible emotion and atmosphere. I am sure everyone will cherish the memories for years to come.
I had the pleasure of photographing April and Brent’s wedding this past weekend at Castle Avalon in New Braunfels. Here is one of the shots from the day. I have more posted on my facebook page and will be posting a full article here later this week.
In less than two weeks I have what could be the wedding of the year. I will be photographing April and Brent’s wedding at Castle Avalon in New Braunfels. I have been looking forward to this one since the walk through back in September. I am excited to be shooting a “First Look” session with April and Brent, and I can only imagine the fantastic shots we will get throughout the day. The grounds are picturesque and look stunning from every angle, with an outdoor courtyard that makes the perfect ceremony location. Inside, the castle is elegant with a European classic flair. With such a grand setting the atmosphere will be perfect for capturing all the emotion and charm of the day.
