Pedernales Falls is one of those locations that tugs at me. The grand nature of the river, the rock formations, the intricacies of the landscape all come together to provide a spectacular experience. My first thought when visiting locations like this is how exciting it would be to stage a bridal shoot there. The creative possibilities are limitless.
My recent visit to the park was more of a photographic scouting trip. My effort was to identify some possible locations for a bridal or engagement shoot that would result in compelling images. It was an effort in narrowing down the limitless possibilities to a manageable number of likely photography spots. Overall the trip was good and helped give some initial shape to my ideas. I left with some good images for planning and staging, but I also need to find the right bride or couple to being the vision to life.
If you are interested in being a part of this project, and feel you would enjoy the creative and planning process, I would like to hear from you.
Sometimes you have to be a little bit bold, especially this time of year. For the most part Texas winter weather is mild, and it can result in perfect conditions for a wedding ceremony. On the other hand it can be miserable, and leave couples looking for a plan “B”. On the morning of Amy and Eli’s wedding, plan “B” appeared to be the likely choice. Slightly on the cool side, and with heavy threatening skies, the chance of rain was very likely. It takes a bold bride to stick with an outdoor ceremony plan under those conditions, but Amy was sure of her decision.
As if to exhibit some kind of super power over the weather, the rain did hold out all the way up until the last shots of the formal photos, then light sprinkles fell letting everyone know it was time to move on to the reception. Congrats to a wonderful couple and a fantastic wedding day. Capturing the moments of your day was a heartwarming experience.
Amy picked a beautiful day for bridal photos, and you can never go wrong having them done at Scenic Springs. The grounds are beautiful and the scenery is gorgeous. Such a fitting location for her wedding and bridal photography. Now that she is married here are a few of the images from the session.
One of the more popular attractions in San Antonio is the Botanical Garden. The gardens are kept beautiful all year round, and provide a wonderful experience for visitors and tourists. I have done several bridal photography sessions there over the years, and on one occasion I noticed the chairs set up for a wedding ceremony.
I assumed the Botanical Garden would be a very popular location for wedding ceremonies, but It was only recently that I had the opportunity to cover a wedding there. With such a large venue the options and settings are numerous, especially for smaller ceremonies. No matter what area of the venue you are in, the settings are beautiful, and the photo opportunities are unending.
My coverage of Chantel and Ben’s wedding was a great experience, and I was excited to finally photograph a ceremony at such an iconic venue in San Antonio. The weather was beautiful, and the gardens looked amazing as usual. If you are looking for a wedding venue, or a location for bridal photos I highly recommend the Botanical Gardens.
Capturing Jennifer and Steven’s wedding day was an exciting opportunity this month. Their ceremony was held at the Latter-Day Saint Temple here in San Antonio. Sitting atop one of the tallest hills in the Stone Oak area of San Antonio, the temple can be seen for miles and is a striking structure. While photography is not allowed inside the temple, we were free to capture photographs on the grounds and around the temple architecture.
The day was lovely with beautiful skies, as Jennifer and Steven exited the temple to be greeted by family and friends. After some group photos and family pictures, we had time to capture just the two of them together as husband and wife. The smiles on their faces, and words of affection they shared was touching, making the moment even more memorable. I feel the photos convey the tenderness of their love and feeling in their hearts.
Jennifer and Steven, I can’t thank you enough for choosing me as your photographer for such a special occasion.
I always enjoy getting together with my wedding couples for engagement photography. This past week I had the opportunity to create some beautiful photos of Jessica and Juan. There wedding is quickly approaching and I am excited to capture these two again on their special day. For the engagement photos it was the first time for me to photograph at the Lourdes Grotto on Oblate here in San Antonio. The area is gorgeous and includes a rich history which can be seen on the website.
What a day for Michelle and Stephen. A beautiful event, a fantastic wedding, an amazing couple. Granberry Hills Event Center tucked away on the Northeast side of San Antonio, was the perfect location for their wedding. It is like a little photographer’s paradise tucked in the woods off the road. Beautiful weather greeted the wedding party as they enjoyed the moments before the ceremony. Floating on air, Michelle had been looking forward to this day for some time. The spirits in the girls changing room was electric. In the next room, the men looked cool and ready for what would be a memorable and fun wedding.
The day did not disappoint as two of the happiest people joined together in a beautiful ceremony. The reception awaited and everyone was off to a good time after a few formal photos. As most of you may know it is almost impossible to pull the bride away from the dance floor, but when you have people commenting on how “the groom’s got moves”…well Michelle just beamed and said “yes he does, I love him”.
